Ojos negros
Sinopsis
Fiction. Paula is a 14-year-old teenager. She has to spend her summer in Ojos Negros, a small town, with her aunt and her grandmother, although she doesn’t know them really well. She discovers the family tensions that emerge due to her grandmother’s illness. She tries to escape this suffocating atmosphere and meets Alicia, a girl of her own age. Both girls develop a strong friendship. By the end of the summer, Paula will start to understand, intuitively, what it means to become an adult.
Marta Lallana was born 25 years ago in Zaragoza (Spain). During her studies at the Art School, she discovered her passion for films and photography and decided to move to Barcelona and study Audiovisual Communication at Universidad Pompeu Fabra. When she was 22, she was one of the 12 photographers selected to compete in the European Master of Photography game show, broadcasted through the Sky Arts Channel. She was among the final contestants and during her stay in Rome, her work was supervised by photographers like Alex Webb, Bruce Gilden, and David Lachapelle. When she returned to Barcelona, she started her career with the short film El Arquero, as the cinematography director. She then did simultaneously, on the one side, the production, script, and co-direction of her filmmaking debut with Ojos negros, while on the other side, she was developing several projects on the drawing boards of the production company Nanouk Films. She co-wrote several scripts, among them, the short film Restos de cosas (Salvador Sunyer y Xavier Bobés, 2018).
Ivet Castelo (born in 1995, in Vic) graduated in Audiovisual Communication at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, in 2017. In 2016 she decided to study abroad for a semester, at Korea University (Seoul). She was the director of production of the short film El Arquero, produced by Universitat Pompeu Fabra, premiered at Mecal and selected in national festivals like the SomCinema Festival. Ojos negros is her debut as a director and scriptwriter. She currently lives in Vienna and pursues her filmmaker career there.
